With the countdown ticking to the 2022 AfroTech Conference, the experience is set to feature some of the top Black leaders and innovators in Web3.

Tanya Sam
Earlier this year, Tanya Sam shared keys to building generational wealth with the Black Tech Green Money (BTGM) podcast. Now, the reality TV star-turned-tech entrepreneur will be spilling knowledge at this year’s conference. Currently, Sam is the Director of Partnerships at TechSquare Labs, as well as co-founder of BuiltxWomen. As she has fully dived into tech, she pushes to bring more women and minorities alongside her.
Elise Swopes
Elise Swopes made a big name for herself in Web3 in 2021. As previously reported by AfroTech, the artist made over $200,000 from her non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in just about ten months. Under the mission of “We rise better together,” Swopes founded the Sunrise Art Club — a creative impact agency that promotes storytelling in the Web3 market. Through the agency, she is working to support underrepresented creators in the space.
Harold Hughes
Experience technology company Bandwagon is all about “proof of experience.” After pivoting to NFTs during the pandemic, Harold Hughes led the startup to help fans and consumers connect with their favorite artists, athletes, and entertainers. Since then, the Greenville, SC-based company has raised $3 million in venture capital funding. Thanks to the blockchain and community, Hughes plans for Bandwagon to thrive within the future of the live events space.
Nyla Hayes
Nyla Hayes is representing Gen Z in the lineup of featured speakers. Following being recognized as an AfroTech Future 50 honoree, the 13-year-old will be center stage at the 2022 AfroTech Conference. Hayes created her own NFT collection, the Long Neckie Collection in 2021, which was said to be worth over $3.4 million at one point. Additionally, the digital architect was TIMEPiece’s first Artist-In-Residence and is the founder of NFT Children’s Day.
Stephanie Alexis Smellie
If you need to be looped in the know about Web3, look no further than Stephanie Alexis Smellie. For nearly a year, the Web3 advisor was the VP of Content and Entertainment Partnerships at Dapper Labs. During her time at the leading NFT company, she worked to support Black creators and developers on the Flow blockchain.
Florcy Morisset
With over 15 years of experience, including at Dell Technologies and Netflix, Florcy Morisset’s expertise lies in the intersection of technology, diversity, and art. The serial entrepreneur’s journey has led her to become an NFT and Web3 Consultant. Currently, Morriset is the co-founder of Spooky Fresh and the founder of Vivant Art Collection.
Summer Watson
Summer Watson is all about the future of creativity. As co-founder and president of Aku — an NFT sensation of a young Black space explorer — she serves as one of the top innovators in the Web3 space. With all the different hats Watson wears, pushing people of color and women to the forefront is at the top of her agenda.
