When Beyoncé announced the Renaissance World Tour, she sent social media into a frenzy.
And to no surprise, once the tour dates officially dropped, fans immediately got in formation to secure tickets.
Incoming sales for the Renaissance World Tour could make it the superstar’s highest-grossing thus far and also all-time across tours.
As previously shared by AfroTech, the tour could potentially generate over $2 billion in revenue, which is based off Forbes’ estimate of the calculation that each concert on the 57-stop tour sells out. What’s more, the tickets run for around $200 to $678, per Billboard and TicketSmarter.
The minimum revenue that Beyoncé could earn from the tour is projected to about $382 million.
“Ticket prices are only going up,” according to Armen Shaomian, an associate professor of Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina, told Forbes in an email in May 2023. “There are large sections of tickets on Beyoncé’s tour dedicated as B-Hive and Club Renaissance close to the stage, along with some shows where the entire floor level is a standing room club setting (Stockholm for example). Such tickets are all sold at a premium. Think of it as a flight having more first and business class seats that are sold at a premium, which pushes up the average fare.”
While the Renaissance World Tour may potentially make history for Beyoncé, it has already made its mark on Sweden.
Financial Times reports that Beyoncé allegedly impacted the country’s inflation. After her tour kicked off in Sweden on May 10 and May 11, it’s said that the Swedish inflation increased by 0.2%.
“Beyoncé is responsible for the extra upside surprise this month,” Danske Bank Chief Economist Michael Grahn said, according to the outlet. “It’s quite astonishing for a single event. We haven’t seen this before.”
After previously decreasing from 10.5% to 9.7% from April to May, the increase was said to be a result from prices rising for hotels and restaurants thanks to the tour, the outlet details. To be specific, prices increased by 3.3% for the previously mentioned months, based on information from Statistics Sweden.
Beyoncé’s tour comes to an end Sept. 27, 2023.
