For the Black beauty brand junkies, this one’s for you.
ESSENCE reports that Hyper Skin, a Black woman-owned skincare line for melanated skin, has struck gold on a major distribution deal.
Coming To A Sephora Near You
Led by founder Desiree Verdejo, her award-winning brand has inked a deal with Sephora, which will bring her products to the shelves of over 250 of its stores nationwide.
“We are so thrilled to have officially launched in 250 Sephora stores across the country,” Verdejo shared in a statement, according to the outlet. “My goal with Hyper Skin has always been to meet our consumers where they are, so being a part of the Next Big Thing curation at Sephora will be a catalyst for becoming even more accessible to our community.”
Sephora’s Next Big Thing is a curation that aims to support the growth of small and indie makeup brands.
Hyper Skin's Origin Story
Launched in 2019, Hyper Skin’s debut product was its “Hyper Clear Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum.”
The brand focuses on helping its Black and brown customers reduce stubborn dark spots.
"I’m By Far My Toughest Customer"
“I’ve had acne and dark spots since I was a teenager— I’m by far my toughest customer,” Verdejo wrote on the company’s website. “After loving skincare but being left out of the club, I created the brand that we deserve. One that is rooted in realness — it’s really multicultural, centering real skin and realistic standards, and our hardworking formulas deliver real results. Hyper Skin is setting new standards for modern clinical skincare.”
Hyper Skin Fam
Verdejo credits the Hyper fam for shopping online over the past year, leaving reviews, and asking for the products to be in-store. Now, Hyper Skin is doing just that.
What To Expect
“While our full product collection is available online at Sephora, we’re excited to welcome our hero Hyper Even Brightening Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum and new Hyper Even Brightening Gel Cleanser to the shelves in person,” Verdejo said, according to reports.
