In the summers of the 2000s, the “Scream Tour” was always one for the books.
Launched in 2001 with Bow Wow as the headliner, the annual tour dates also featured the likes of B2K, Jhene Aiko, Marques Houston, Pretty Ricky, and more — up until 2012 for the last Scream Tour.
Now, Bow Wow is not only bringing the nostalgic tour back but also gaining ownership of what he helped build.
The rapper has partnered with the Black Promoters Collective to acquire an ownership stake in the “Scream Tour,” according to a press release.
“It’s ya boy, Bow Wow, and you know I had to bring the scream tour back,” Bow Wow shared in a statement.

After over a decade, the show has returned with Scream Tour ‘23 kicking off on Aug. 18 in Charlotte, NC, the press release details. Hosted by Bow Wow and Kayla Nicole, the tour’s lineup includes the next generation of talent such as That Girl Lay Lay, Young Dylan, Wanmor, Papa Jay, Lay Bankz, and more.
“We are excited to partner with Bow Wow on the Scream Tour as he is the original face of the brand, and we have had the pleasure of working with him for many years on other tours we have produced,” Gary Guidry, CEO of The Black Promoters Collective, said. “By introducing the Scream Tour ’23 and featuring an incredible lineup of rising stars, we aim to create a one-of-a-kind experience for fans, allowing them to relive their teenage years while introducing the next generation to the magic of live music.”
As previously reported by AfroTech, The Black Promoters Collective was formed in 2020 by a team of top Black, independent live entertainment veterans looking to create inclusion and opportunities for Black promoters. The 100% Black-owned coalition has worked with the likes of Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige, Charlie Wilson, New Edition, and Maxwell.
