Fans have been showing up and showing out for Damar Hamlin.

As previously reported by AfroTech, the Buffalo Bills star went into critical condition after going into cardiac arrest after making a tackle.

Along with sending out their thoughts and prayers, thousands of people gathered to donate to Hamlin’s GoFundMe for Chasing M’s — a foundation he created to support back-to-school drives, kids’ camps, and more for his community.

“As I embark on my journey to the NFL, I will never forget where I come from and I am committed to using my platform to positively impact the community that raised me,” Hamlin previously shared in 2020 on GoFundMe. “I created The Chasing M’s Foundation as a vehicle that will allow me to deliver that impact, and the first program is the 2020 Community Toy Drive.”

Now, Hamlin has the most in-demand jersey on Fanatics, CNN reports.

“Damar still has the most purchased jersey among all athletes across all sports on Fanatics since Monday night,” a spokesperson for Fanatics said, according to the outlet.

“Fans are showing an incredible outpouring of love and support for Damar Hamlin in buying his jersey,” Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin tweeted. “Please get well soon Damar.”

The outlet notes that Fanatics will donate all proceeds from Hamlin’s jersey sales to his foundation. As of this writing, the online campaign has raised over $7,800,000. In 2020, the initial goal was $2,500.

“This fundraiser was initially established to support a toy drive for Damar’s community, sponsored by the Chasing M’s Foundation,” the campaign shared in an update. “However, it has received renewed support in light of Damar’s current battle and we can’t thank all of you enough. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us.”

According to the outlet, doctors said that Hamlin is still “critically ill, but his condition has improved substantially.” The medical professionals also shared that the 24-year-old is moving his hands and feet.
