Gabby Goodwin continues to climb the ladder to success as a budding, young entrepreneur!
As previously reported by AfroTech, Goodwin has been on a mission to encourage confidence in young women through her haircare accessory line GaBBY Bows. Following the success of the accessory line, she decided to take things a step further with a haircare line, Confidence by Gabby Goodwin.
Per reports by WISTV, the brand has opened its doors to the Midlands community where they will sell hair products as well as offer a salon for young women to get their hair done! She has even launched a mentorship program around the store that will equip young girls with all that they need to become entrepreneurs.
The Vision
Gabby has been a business owner since the age of seven as the visionary and mastermind behind the first patented and non-slip double-face double-snap barrette that she helped to create thanks to the guidance of her mother, Rozalynn Goodwin.
Today, at 15-years-old, Gabby’s Confidence brand continues to reach new heights as a global brand that also offers GaBBY Bows, plant-based haircare products, and business mentorship programs.
“We have hair products and boxes and books and just different products to make wash day easier and to help girls feel inspired and confident in themselves,” said Gabby in an interview with WISTV.
The Storefront
Since the launch of her business, Goodwin has always wanted to have a storefront and now that dream is a reality.
As a family-owned company, the physical storefront is a step toward upward mobility for the brand.
“It’s a level of validation,” said Goodwin’s father, Mike Goodwin. “Folks can actually come by and buy the products.”
He also shares how much of an impact Gabby has on the community simply by going after her dreams at such a young age.
“It causes folks of all ages to say, ‘Wow if that little girl can do that, I can do it also,’” Mike continued. “‘Let me blow the dust off my journals and the dreams I had.’”
What's Next?
As her business continues to grow, Gabby has plans to recruit more young girls interested in entrepreneurship along the way.
