A lucky bidder has snagged historic LeBron James’ memorabilia.

A piece of LeBron James’ legacy has been sold for a whopping $3.7 million — setting a new record — according to a report from TMZ.
The memorabilia is his No. 6 Miami Heat jersey that he wore when the team defeated the San Antonio Spurs to win the 2013 NBA Finals. It was the second championship won by the basketball superstar at the time.
Sotheby’s reveals that this marks the highest-selling game-worn jersey by James to be sold to date.
“Today’s tremendous result comes at a pivotal time in LeBron James’ career, where he is in arm’s reach of clenching the all-time points record — one of the NBA’s most revered accolades,” Sotheby’s officials said in a statement, per the outlet.
While the details about the winning bidder are unknown, the jersey is said to have gone to a private collector.
However, Sotheby’s did reveal that the jersey sold for a total of $3,680,000 and that it is among “the highest prices achieved for any game-worn jersey on the open market.”
A Piece Of History
Besides the sale of the jersey, the night it was worn by James went down in history as well.
It was his first Game 7 of his NBA career and his second time walking away with the NBA Finals MVP award.
