Lil Baby is part of a new club.

According to Black Cannabis Magazine, the “Drip Too Hard” rapper is now part of the Crypto Cannabis Club, a new (non-fungible) NFT community specially designed for 420-friendly folks.

The outlet reports that other celebrities are involved in the new club, as well. Dez Bryant, Berner, Cheech & Chong, Ricky Williams, Gary Vee, Carlos Condit, Ja Rule, Blocboy JB, Rich The Kid, and Sean O’Malley are just a few of the many fellow cannabis enthusiasts that are part of the club.

The Crypto Cannabis Club boasts itself to be the intersection of crypto, cannabis, and NFTs.

“The benefits include exclusive discounts to all of our partners, access to our IRL events, a play 2 earn game in development, along with amazing networking opportunities within the community,” said Tokin Dread, founder of the Crypto Cannabis Club, to the outlet.

For his part, Lil Baby has been purchasing NFTs to support the Crypto Cannabis Club. He purchased two NFTs — which the club refers to as “NFTokers” — from his verified OpenSea account, LilBaby4.

The Atlanta-based superstar purchased NFToker 7768 and NFToker 8683. Both depict a simulacrum of the Hip-Hop superstar.

Previously, it was reported that Lil Baby had teamed up with Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Michael Rubin’s Fanatics, and more to acquire Mitchell & Ness in a deal worth $250 million. As AfroTech previously reported, the sports goods brand is being brought into the 21st century with this investment, according to Rubin.

“I’m incredibly excited for Fanatics to partner with this incredible group of innovative owners to build upon the company’s already strong business that has kept the brand culturally relevant for more than 100 years,” he said in a statement. “Growing up as a kid in Philadelphia, we looked at Mitchell & Ness as a badge of pride, and I truly believe this legendary brand has no limit.”

Previously, Lil Baby said he prefers crypto to cash

As Lil Baby continues to make his name known in the NFT world, fans can’t help but remember a time when he said that he didn’t even want to make “money” anymore — preferring, instead, to being paid in crypto.

As AfroTech previously reported, an Instagram video (which has since been deleted) revealed the rapper talking about the value of the Web3 Metaverse, and on the video, he also spoke about wanting to get paid in cryptocurrency.

“Metaverse,” he said in the recording. “I stay in the Metaverse from now on. I don’t even want no more cash.”
