Megan Thee Stallion’s educational pursuits are inspiring others to follow suit.
As AfroTech previously reported, Megan Thee Stallion received her bachelor’s degree in health administration from Texas Southern University (TSU) back in December 2021. With all eyes on the rapper, it comes as no surprise that her presence at TSU has created a buzz that is already benefitting the city of Houston.
TSU Has Met It's Enrollment Goal Of 8,000 Students
“Texas Southern is really on the cusp from a branding and marketing standpoint,” said DeNeia Thomas, TSU’s vice president for enrollment and student success in a press release, according to the Houston Chronicle. “Everyone knows that Texas Southern University is the place to be.”
As the school closes in on its admission deadline, it has already met its goal of enrolling 8,000 students, the outlet reports. The feat is a testament to TSU’s growing traction. The school’s enrollment target is already on track to return to normalcy as the school saw a dip in recent years due to the pandemic.
Megan Thee Stallion Is Not The Only Celeb Drawing Attention To An HBCU
What’s more, Megan Thee Stallion is not the only celebrity who has recently drawn attention to an HBCU.
AfroTech has been following JR Smith’s moves at North Carolina AT&T. The former National Basketball Association player has been very vocal about his experience at the university and has already secured major wins such as a 4.0 GPA and winning North Carolina A&T’s Academic Athlete of the Year.
