Pharrell Williams’ winning streak continues. This time the legendary producer has been tapped to lead as the chief brand officer of the Doodles NFT project.

The news comes on the heels of a successful second installment of his Something in the Water festival during the Juneteenth holiday weekend. It was also just a week after he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside his partner of The Neptunes, Chad Hugo.

Now, Decrypt reports that the “Happy” singer will help to build the larger Doodles team “from the core community outward.” Pharrell shared a video statement in which he expressed that he is a “big fan” of Doodles and is happy to also join the company’s board along with his new role.

What's Doodles?

Doodles is a web3 NFT, media, and entertainment brand that didn’t take the traditional route when it came to sharing the exciting news. The company revealed Pharrell’s new position during an NFT-focused event held in New York on Tuesday (June 21).

“I’m a big fan of the brand,” said Pharrell in the pre-recorded video message shared at the event. “We’re going to build from the core community outward and bring Doodles to new heights, new levels.”

Taking On A New Role

In addition to his new position as the chief brand officer, Pharrell will serve as the executive producer on an album, which will feature Doodles-inspired tunes. The new project is called “Doodles Records: Volume 1,” and it will be released with Columbia Records. According to sources, the new tape will feature “major recording artists” along with artwork from Doodles artist Scott “Burnt Toast” Martin.

During the NFT-inspired event, creators announced the new Doodles 2 collection, which will include millions of avatars along with a wider array of traits to be included with wearable items.

No stranger to the NFT space, Pharrell recently launched his own Gallery of Digital Assets (GODA) project.
