If you want to have a good time on the weekend, most cities offer a range of places that provide top-tier vibes. But if you talk to the locals, you’d be sure to discover the spots beyond what a typical Google search can provide. If you find yourself in Atlanta, GA, rapper 2 Chainz’s Esco Restaurant and Tapas will likely be on that list created by local patrons. Now, those outside the Atlanta Metropolitan Area will get a taste of Esco as a part of PEPSI® Dig In, the brand’s platform designed to “drive access, business growth, and awareness to Black-owned restaurants.”
2 Chainz is on the mission to help bring in a new wave of Krystal’s supporters. At the start of the year, the rapper was tapped as the Head of Creative Marketing for the fast-food chain, as previously reported by AfroTech. Under the role, the Atlanta native aims to be a part of the resurgence of the restaurant he loved growing up. In the announcement of the collaboration, it detailed that 2 Chainz and his team would put Krystal in the spotlight and grow by launching new platforms and partnerships, a custom co-branded Krystal restaurant, a “Luxe Line” of premium food, and NFTs.
The year 2022 may be the year of expansion for Kanye West. The rap billionaire recently alluded to plans of launching Yeezy stores globally, beginning first in Georgia. Then, as AfroTech previously reported, Young Thug offered to help. “@KanyeWest I got over 100 acres,” Thugger wrote on his Instagram Stories. “However many you need they’re yours free of charge. On GOD.” However, now, West may have different plans for the land.
2 Chainz is moving on to bigger and better as the rapper and his business partner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard have begun to franchise their Esco Restaurant and Tapas. The news follows after settling a lawsuit filed in 2020 by the family of the late Pablo Escobar. AllHipHop previously reported the family had an issue with the use of the last name for 2 Chainz’s Escobar Restaurant and Tapas Diners. However, a decision was reportedly reached outside of court for 2 Chainz and Dillard to give $15,000 to Escobar Inc.
2 Chainz is the living, breathing definition of a “trap-preneur.” He started out making music in Atlanta, GA and was considered one of the pioneers of the trap music subgenre of Hip-Hop. And back in 2017, not even he could have predicted that his very regional brand of rap would have hit the pop culture zeitgeist . “We’re the pop stars. Trap rap is pop now. People’s ears have adjusted to what we have to say and how we say it,” he said to Rolling Stone while remarking how so much of the genre’s parlance — including its distinctive slang — had entered into mainstream colloquialism. And that, really, is the best legacy that 2 Chainz can leave behind. While there is no shortage of influential musicians who didn’t get their flowers (or, really, their coins) in their lifetime, the “Duffle Bag Boy” is one of the lucky ones. According to Celebrity Net Worth, his larger-than-life business acumen has earned him a $12 million estimated net worth. And that’s nothing if not impressive. Let’s...
College Park native and trap music aficionado, 2 Chainz, is putting the world on notice that he is more than trap beats and creative bars. In collaboration with Memphis rapper and producer Juicy J, 2 Chainz invested $2 billion in a solar energy merger Summer of 2021. In addition to this investment in sustainability, the Grammy-nominated artist has a restaurant and tapas bar in Atlanta, GA. Plus, he has a nail salon, a cannabis line, and several other thriving businesses. As if his hands were not packed with all of this, 2 Chainz posted that the time to level up has come via his Instagram page.
What would you sacrifice in order to pivot the trajectory of your career? For 2 Chainz, it cost him a hefty bag. According to Complex, the rapper had signed to Ludacris’ record label, Disturbing the Peace, with his former rap partner Dolla Boy as a duo — known as Playaz Circle. After gaining insight on how to prosper in the industry as a budding artist at the time, he decided that he wanted out of his initial deal and to take off in the game on his own terms. 2 Chainz eventually was able to get out of his Disturbing tha Peace deal, but he shared on an episode of “Drink Champs” that he had to pay up first. “I woke up and called [Ludacris] and said, ‘I don’t want to be on the label anymore.’ Then they said, ‘You can’t do that. You can’t just get off a label like that.’ … They thought I was about to go sign with Cash Money because I had a strong relationship with Tune at the time,” he shared. He continued: “I been around ’Cris, I been around Wayne, and then I’m learning I can really do...

Together, we will bring the feeling and flavor of Krystal to as many new fans as possible.”

A random store run on Easter Sunday changed this man’s life forever! Richard Hutchins was once an artist who lived on the streets of Los Angeles, but now he’s turning his life around after landing his paintings in the right hands. According to The Grio, Hutchins began living on the streets due to his art studio burning down a few years ago. That all changed during a trip to Ralph’s grocery store when Hutchins met Charlie Rocket, a philanthropist and founder, who just so happens to be the former manager to the rapper, 2 Chainz. In an interview with TMZ, Rocket explains the moments that led up to meeting Hutchins. “I went into Target, and I’ve never seen Target closed before, Walmart, Target, they’re just always open,” said Rocket. “So I was like, you know what, let’s go over to Ralphs, we pull up to Ralphs, and this guy is sitting on a shopping cart with amazing energy. [Richard] said, ‘Nephew, I like your car let me drive it.’” For Rocket, meeting Hutchins was fate. “I was like, ‘I...
