Most people know the famed Atlanta rapper Offset for one of two reasons. He was one-third of the popular rap group Migos before pursuing a solo career and is husband to Cardi B , a female MC who needs no introduction. But the southern music artist has been in the entertainment industry for years — including as a backup dancer to Whitney Houston at one point. As part of Migos, Offset and his group members, Quavo and the late Takeoff, helped to bring Trap music further into the mainstream with iconic hits like “Bad and Boujee” and “Walk It Talk It.” He would go on as a solo artist to further establish himself as a fixture in the rap genre, earning a Best Rap Performance Grammy nomination for his song “Clout” which features his wife. With all the success and notoriety afforded Offset, exactly how much is the former Migos member worth? Little is known about Offset’s early life except that he hails from a middle-class family. Born Kiari Kendrell Cephus in 1991, he’s a Georgian native...
The evolution of Migos has been one to watch in Hip-Hop over the years. Nearly a decade since being signed to Quality Control, the trio has yet to be knocked out of their spot. As previously reported by AfroTech, each member’s respective consistency has garnered them a combined estimated net worth of $80 million.
Offset has allegedly filed a lawsuit to officially part ways with Quality Control (QC) following differences over his solo career, TMZ reports. Although Offset — born Kiari Kendrell Cephus — and his fellow group members Quavo and Takeoff have managed to dodge rumors regarding the official disbanding of the beloved Migos rap group, he is getting vocal about his rights as an individual artist. However, now he wants to part ways with the label that has been home to the Atlanta natives since the very beginning.
When Migos first broke into the mainstream in 2016 with “Bad and Boujee,” their impact was fast and nearly immediate. By 2018, the collective’s viral hit had topped Billboard’s Hot 100 list, and Forbes Magazine noted that they were demanding $150,000 per show. Subsequently, the collective made it to Forbes’ 2018 list of 30 under 30 in music. That same year, Cardi B — who is now married to Offset from the Migos — made it to the list, as well. And this kicked off a series of successes for the Atlanta natives that culminated, according to Celebrity Net Worth, with an estimated combined net worth of $80 million. But while it seems like their success was an overnight one, the reality is, it was anything but. The collective was first formed in 2008, and it took nearly a decade (even with the Internet and social media at their disposal) to finally gain traction with their music. That said, between September 2017 and September 2018, the collective earned more than $25 million from their...

Here’s why the traditional route isn’t always the best route! At 23-years-old, Dazayah Walker is one of the youngest female venture capitalists (VC) thanks to the impressive investment portfolio that she manages and maintains for one of Atlanta’s most prominent entertainment labels, Quality Control (QC). Founded in 2013 by Chief Executive Officer, Pierre “Pee” Thomas, and Chief Operations Officer, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Quality Control Music is responsible for groundbreaking acts that include Migos, Lil Baby, City Girls, Lil Yachty, and a host of other trailblazers in the music industry. It has also since expanded its mission to sports with an extensive roster that includes NFL’s Alvin Kamara and D’Andre Swift.
HBCU homecoming season is the most wonderful time of the year! There is nothing like the experience of a homecoming at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). From the concerts to the tailgate, it is a time for students, alumni, and guests to convene to celebrate the rich history of institutions that directly impact our culture. After COVID-19 took the world by storm, it stripped us of a lot of things. Seeing family, attending concerts — you name it. It was a year like no other. Homecoming events were among those delayed and canceled, but the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) had a plan. Last year was the inaugural celebration of Recognizing and Investing in Student Excellence (RISE), a virtual concert and fundraiser led by TMCF to celebrate the longstanding legacy of HBCU Homecomings. On Oct. 9, RISE returns with host Terrence J and performances by Migos, Moneybagg Yo, Justine Skye, NC A&T Blue, Gold Marching Machine and more!
Lil Yachty is about to have all of our manis and pedis looking right! FOR YOU, NOT THEM! Through Crete, the rapper hopes to inspire people of all genders to express themselves freely! View this post on Instagram A post shared by ^CONCRETE BOY BOAT^ ?? (@lilyachty) Nail polish has always been a way for the rapper to express himself and he has been seen rocking an assortment of nail polish colors and nail art designs so it was a no-brainer for him to develop his own line. This announcement comes just a year after his public support of 17-year-old Trevor Wilkinson who was punished with in-school suspension at Clyde High School in West Texas for wearing nail polish in school last November. Wilkinson said in a...
