Rap Snacks is on a mission to create a lasting impression on the culture through its business blueprint. Created in 1994 by James Lindsay, Rap Snacks has energized the business and music landscape for Hip-Hop artists that include Master P, who now serves as limited partner, and other relevant artists such as Lil Baby, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, and Nicki Minaj.
The early 2000s serve as a nostalgic point for many people. However, there are two rappers who had fans in a proverbial chokehold based on their talent and look. These two young men were Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo. While many argue that their approach and trajectories differed, no one can deny the impact the two had on culture. From becoming the face of “106 & Park” to going to lead the Nickelodeon show, “Romeo!” – Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo were significant parts of the artistic success the 2000s brought. Although those moments live in people’s brains rent-free, if you fast forward to adulthood, the realities of both superstars are far different. Lil Bow Wow now prefers his government name Shad Moss, and Lil Romeo has dropped the little and has fully embraced adulthood as an entrepreneur and businessman. This intersection of adulthood and business acumen is where Romeo finds himself today. And the occurrences that surround the situation are enough to “make ‘em say ugh.”
Nicki Minaj has become known for having a ride-or-die fanbase, “the Barbies” — also known as “the Barbz.” To honor her loyal supporters, Rap Snacks partnered with the Harajuku Barbie in June for her own edition of Rap Snacks, The Barbie-Que Honey Truffle Potato Chips, as previously reported by AfroTech. “Nicki Minaj is unquestionably one of the most disruptive forces in the history of rap. You’re talking about a woman who rewrote the rules of hip hop culture and happens to be a phenomenal entrepreneur, as well,” Rap Snacks CEO James Lindsay said in a release at the time of the launch, according to PEOPLE. “It just makes sense that as a brand disrupting the snack industry, we align to push the bar even further. This is the beginning of a legendary partnership.” But it appears that what started as “legendary” has turned into a legal battle.

It’s no secret that the legendary Master P has the knowledge for days when it comes to lessons of owning your own. Among many things, the rapper turned entrepreneur — born Percy Miller — is an icon. For decades, he has built and maintained an empire that is rooted in remaining true to yourself and trusting God, and he has been bringing his family (and the culture) with him every step of the way. AfroTech sat down with the icon to discuss what the journey to success has looked like for him over the years, advice for the culture, and why his family will always be one of his main values, plus more, ahead of the premiere of his “UNCENSORED” TV One episode.
Snoop Dogg and Master P are both the definition of hustlers. So, it’s only right that the two are now officially business partners. The upcoming Super Bowl performer’s wine, 19 Crimes, has been circulating in stores and now, his face is going on chip bags next. Rap Snacks co-founder Master P has brought fellow Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg on as a new brand ambassador to create Snoop Dogg Icon Chips, according to BET. “Don’t nobody have more chips than me. Just did a deal with the new brand ambassador, Snoop Dogg. We are family and there’s enough for all of us to eat. We agreed on a 50/50 partnership. And the new Snoop Dogg Icon chips are coming soon in three flavors. I’m committed to continue educating and giving our people the blueprint on building economic empowerment. Trust the process. We’re taking over the grocery stores, they can have the streets,” he wrote via Instagram. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Master P (@masterp) Master P is always about empowering the...
