You can already get virtually anything you need at Walmart. From a mani-pedi to a tire rotation, from groceries to electronics, Walmart is truly a one-stop-shop. Now it appears they’re expanding their reach into the healthcare industry.
Last Fall, Walmart opened the first Walmart Health location in Dallas, GA, with the second Walmart Health location opening in Calhoun, GA in January 2020. Their services include primary care, dental, hearing, optometry, fitness & nutrition, labs & x-rays, psychiatric counseling, and more for patients with or without insurance coverage. In just a short time, customers have already gushed over the facilities’ courteous staff, quality medical care, and their variety of services.
The price points are nothing to sneeze at either. Patients can meet with a counselor for $45, get a medical checkup for $30, or a $25 teeth cleaning. Customers can even participate in a free Zumba class.
Walmart Health is located inside Walmart Supercenters but has its own separate entrance. Walk-ins are welcome but it’s encouraged to book an appointment in advance online.
Walmart Health seeks to challenge CVS’ Health Hubs and Amazon, which is looking to get into the healthcare industry as well. In the meantime, Walmart intends to use lessons it learns from its Georgia locations to hopefully expand across the nation.
