Rick Ross Helps Prevent A Local Georgia Clinic From Closing Thanks To His Generous $30K Donation

According to WSB-TV, an ABC affiliate in Atlanta, GA, the rapper known for promoting a life of luxury and ease took matters into his own hands when he discovered that a Fayetteville, GA, clinic was on the verge of closing due to a lack of funding.

“Thank you very much for your donation of the $30,179,” Geneva Weaver, the executive director of Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic, said per the outlet.

Located not too far from Ross’ mansion that sits on 235 acres of land in Fayetteville, the clinic offers free care to people 18 and up without access to insurance. Not only can those attending the medical organization see a doctor, but they also are provided with an opportunity to receive preventative care and any medications they may need.

“The patients that come to this clinic, all of them, their income level is 200% below the poverty level,” Weaver explained. “The national poverty level.”

What’s more, Ross wanted to help because he says that Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic’s mission is something that resonates with him on a personal level.

“A clinic like this means a lot to me,” Ross said. “I lost my father at an early age, and I felt like one of the reasons I lost him so early is because of his lack of healthcare.”

He added: “I look forward to continuing to help out as much as possible. I consider you family, friends, and of course neighbors.”

To date, Ross’ donation is the largest that the clinic has received, according to Weaver, who also noted that the facility is sustained by way of donations, fundraising, and grants. Just before the “Here I Am” emcee came in with his offering, Fayette C.A.R.E. had only raised $19,000 of its $50,000 goal.
